Dear long-suffering members of the wagnerheim discussion forum:
I wish to apologize for being so long absent from this site. We had, in the following order, the following events transpire at my home:
C. Power outage for a week
D. Blood relative in the hospital emergency room twice in 3 days
E. Manhunt for dangerous fugitive from justice a couple of blocks away, while our lights/power were still out
Other than that, everything has been perfect.
I had intended to post book reviews of Alain Badiou's "Five Lessons on Wagner," and John Deathridge's "Wagner Beyond Good and Evil" here, but, thanks to the power outage (the power is finally on), I lost my connection to our network at home, and have to figure out what my password is to get back online there. At Starbucks I'm able to get online using their wifi, but the physical circumstances make it difficult to set up a book on a stand to review pages as I write about them, so I guess we'll have to wait.
I hope everybody has enjoyed their summer break, including those who hung out at Bayreuth.
Your friend from Wagnerheim,
